WallArt with DearSam

Hi guys!

My first post of 2021 and we’re still in lockdown! I hope everyone is doing ok? It’s not an easy time for anyone, no matter what your circumstances are and it’s definitely not a usual start to a new year. But hopefully, as we’re heading into the spring (and summer!), things will pick up and life will start to resemble a more normal existence!

As you all know, I love interiors and decorating spaces and since the first lockdown, I have really focused on this interest a lot more. I now regularly feature interior posts on my Instagram page as well as sharing interior brands and items that I love. Honestly, I just can’t wait to have a house to make my own and add my style and taste to. …..Although I could be waiting a while!

One of my favourite ways to decorate and revamp a space, is by adding wall art. Whether it’s an original work or a print, a single piece or gallery wall can completely change a room. Sometimes it can be hard to find unusual and unique prints, especially now as more and more brands appear in the market. So I love to dig a little deeper and find the more exclusive brands that can provide a wider and more diverse choice of wall art.

DearSam is a new brand that I’ve discovered who create all their art in-house, for people who love art, interior design, design and fashion…. yes that sounds exactly like me! All of their posters and prints are printed on 240g multidesign white paper from the Clairefontaine paper mill in France which is actually something I noticed when my prints arrived- the paper quality was amazing.

If you’re looking to brighten up your home or switch your decor without a mess, adding art is the quickest, easiest and cheapest way to transform the style and ambience of every room. Sometimes I don’t even hang the art, I place it on a surface behind items like the one above!

I absolutely loved the Matisse inspired print. The colourful design, paired with the simple black frame really finishes the space I have put it in and I would love to expand and create a gallery wall. I actually picked the ‘Collection De Fleurs’ print to compliment this design but I need to get a black frame to match because the white is just not working for me! I love having a modern take on something that has history and a story attached like Matisse.

I also chose two modern prints with some greys and pinks to match one of the bedrooms in my house. I added two silver frames to these prints and I think the simple thin frame really allows the simplistic design to shine. These haven’t made their way to the wall yet as I’m hoping to find some more prints from DearSam but they will be hung just above the headboard!.

DearSam have an array of designs whether you’re looking for something graphic, abstract, art deco, photography, they really have it all. I love modern designs and combining different prints together and I think the two prints below work great together. The Milan print is part of a series available from the website and they have lots of cities and locations to choose from. I paired it with the abstract paint-strokes print as I thought the colours would compliment each other and I love the final result. One thing I haven’t finalised though, is the frames. I am thinking that black frames would make the designs more prominent and striking and that’s what I’m going for. So I’m going to swap them out as soon as I get some black frames in the correct size. The sophistication of these prints makes them perfect for a modern space and they could easily feature as part of a gallery wall with various other designs.

The final piece I want to showcase is this beautiful beach scene. I saw it on the website and I don’t know if it’s the fact that everyone is stuck at home, craving a summer holiday, but there was something so calming about it, that I knew I had to find a place for it. I’ve chosen a white frame to pick up the white of the beach umbrellas and I just find it so serene. Looking at it, I imagine myself on a beach somewhere and I forget about everything else happening in the world! Personally I love this piece as a stand-alone piece. I have the 50 x 40cm one which is a size down from the usual 50 x 70cm size, but it’s also an unusual size and different to all the other prints I already have.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and got some inspiration from the prints and designs. DearSam have kindly given me a discount code for their website. Use 10EVA for 10% off your favourite posters and frames!*
