Hi Guys,
Hope you’ve had a great week!
So I’m sure we can all agree that January felt like three months rolled into one! And I shouldn’t even be complaining, I spent half of January on holidays! But at least we’re into Spring now and the long evenings are well on the way.
Anyway I wanted to do a blog on something different this week. I feel like a lot of my recent blogs have been on travel, which was really exciting but it’s good to have a bit of variation too and to write about something different!
So I’m sure there’s other people in the same boat as myself but I’m properly starting my year this month! I had an absolutely amazing January but I didn’t really get on top of things or organise myself for the year- I was too busy packing for two weeks in New York and going on late night dates! So as you can imagine, I came back from America full of inspiration and new ideas but due to a few unfortunate circumstances, I wasn’t really in the form to put any of it into action straight away. But I’m a firm believer in “Everything Happens for a Reason” and I’m glad to be back in a productive mode this week! I have too much coming up not to be! On the upside, I really over-indulged on the whole ‘treat yourself’ last week and had a back massage in Bliss Beauty and I also booked into Eyrebrushed to have a facial! You would be surprised how the little things can help when you’re not feeling great so I think that’s going to be another one of my mantras for this year- to treat-myself a bit more. Not necessarily to materialistic things as such, but to experiences or things that make me feel good because life is too short not to!
Another thing I’ve been meaning to do is to sit down and write out my aspirations and goals for this year. I know it’s definitely the type of thing you’re supposed to do in January but as I said, my year is starting in February this year! I think it will help me to focus more on what I actually want to do and to achieve in the next 11 months.
Like most people one of my main goals this year is to be a healthier person all-round. I’ve renewed by gym membership for the next few months because I’ve come realise until the weather gets a bit better, it’s something I need- for my own sanity! I’m also trying to eat a bit better. I’m not the best for watching what I eat because I do have a sweet tooth but at the same time I’m going to try cut out some of the unnecessary biscuits and crisps! So here’s a few new receipes I’ve found and that I’m hoping to try this week. I got them from Roz Purcell’s website naturalbornfeeder.com
Potato, Spinach and Lentil Curry
As I said, I was back in Eyrebrushed last week for an Image antioxidant facial. I felt since I had been travelling my skin was so dry and I really just wanted to try get it back to normal so I managed to get a slot on Thursday and Marie worked her magic on my skin! She recommended that I start using the Iluma serum and cleanser to help with the dryness so I’ve added that to my daily routine and my skin is so much better in the week. My skincare routine nearly takes longer than my makeup now but it’s so worth it. I can’t actually describe the difference in my skin since I started going to Eyrebrushed and honestly I was never one to think much of my skin, I used a random moisturiser and cleanser and that was it!
A big thing that has really struck me this year is fast fashion and how unnecessary it actually is. It’s definitely another one of my aims for this year- to buy less and buy more sustainable pieces. It’s not something that I can say I ever really thought about, but maybe it’s just since I was in New York, I feel like I have so many clothes and I don’t get to wear half of them! I’m also trying to de-clutter my wardrobe and storage spaces because I definitely have items that haven’t been worn for three or four years and they just need to go!
So that’s really it for this week on the blog! I know it was a bit all over the place, but so am I at the minute ! I’m filming a makeup video with the fabulous Agnes Kealy Make-up later today so I should have some photos from that on Instagram this evening and I might add them in to this blog when I get them!
Enjoy the weekend!
