I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather at home and wearing lots of SPF! Although, I think it has probably changed to rain at this stage- when I started this blog, the heatwave was in full swing!
I’m here on the couch finally finishing this blog- a month later! I actually feel so unorganised because I’ve been meaning to write this blog since I came back from France and it just never happened. I had great plans of writing the whole thing on the 7 hour flight to New York but obviously my sleep-deprived body didn’t really care about blogging so that was the end of that!
I didn’t think I would, but I actually miss writing regularly and having some sort of structure to my life because at the minute everything is all over the place and I’m still getting used to Chicago- my J1 home for the summer!
Anyway I was in Cannes again this year for the Cannes Lions Festival working with One Rise East and Mediacom in the Martinez Hotel. It was such an amazing experience and I loved every minute of it. It’s hard to believe it even happened because 48 hours after I arrived back in Ireland, I was in the airport again on the way to Chicago!
I know everyone is probably used to seeing my posts from Cannes and the South of France because I’m there quite a lot 🙈 But each time is different and I love to try out new things!
This year more than ever, I was so fortunate that my job allowed me to really experience the best of Cannes. From using the private Z Plage beach, eating 5-Star food and watching Duran Duran perform live on Google Beach😆 And of course, I was based in the Penthouse suite of the famous Martinez Hotel on the Croissette, and yes, it was as amazing as it sounds! Obviously with that came extremely long days but I was working with the most amazing group of people so it was absolutely fantastic.
So this year was my first time to visit Antibes which is one place I hadn’t managed to explore in all my holidays to the south of France. I had a couple of days there with my family before I started work and we had a fantastic time. Antibes can definitely be ‘forgotten about’ in the grand scheme of the French Riviera but it should be on the top of your ‘Places to Go’ list! There were so many nice restaurants and a lovely calm and relaxing atmosphere all around the town!
I spent a morning in the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc and it was probably one of the highlights of the trip. Unfortunately the hotel starts at about €800 a night so staying there wasn’t an option but you can have drinks by the sea or lunch during the day and I would highly recommend it- the location is absolutely amazing!
Another great place to visit is The Suquet in Cannes. It’s great for a stroll especially in the evening time and you’ll get a great view of the city!
And I’ve just added in a few photos from the festival below. To be honest I wouldn’t recommend going on holidays to Cannes during the Cannes Lions festival and especially not during the film festival because it’s a lot busier than normal and unless you have a pass you’ll be restricted as to where you can go. But on the other hand, you never know who you might run into! Obviously I had a pass, but I managed to see David Schwimmer, Fernando Alonso, Shaquille O’Neal, Sophia Amorouso, Yasmin Le Bon and a few more🙈
So to make matters even busier, I arrived home in the early hours of Friday the 24th of June, hopped into bed for a few hours and was back up at 9am getting ready for another wedding! In my 48 hours at home, it was typical that something would have to be on! It was the most thrown together outfit I’ve worn in a long time- I literally didn’t know what I was wearing until 10 minutes before we left!
Top- Actually a silk scarf from Butterslip in Kilkenny
Skirt – River Island
Jacket – River Island ( bought that morning😂)
Heels – River Island
Bag – Butterslip Kilkenny
While I was home I also popped into Eyrebrushed Makeup Studios on the Parade to pick up my summer skincare products from Marie!
The entire time I was in France, I didn’t have to wear makeup at all because since I started using the Image skincare products and especially since I had the LED facial, my face has been glowing!
Now unfortunately when I arrived in the USA I let my healthy eating routine go and I’ve been trying all the sweet treats that Chicago has to offer so my skin isn’t as good as it should be. But I’m still using the Image products and thank god they’re keeping my face moisturized and somewhat healthy. Obviously I need to cut out the bad things to get my skin completely back to normal but it’ll be much easier once I’m at home- there’s so much temptation here!
Check out Eyrebrushed.ie for all the July offers and discounts on Image skincare or follow Emma on Instagram for great skincare advice and some super cute baby pics!
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the blog. I know there’s a few things thrown in but I’m just not organised enough at the minute to be posting more regularly🙈 But I’m really looking forward to being home and getting into a proper routine with the blog!
Enjoy the week!
